한양대학교 ERICA Residential College 센터 글로벌 하우스에서는 2022년 5월 11일(수) 오후 1시에 진행된 리더십 하우스의 일회성 액티비티 비누 만들기 특강에 참여하였다. 비누 만들기 전문 강사님께서 특강을 진행해주셨으며, 학생들은 보석 비누와 클린솝 비누, 총 2가지 종류의 비누를 만드는 체험을 하였다. 학생들은 본인이 원하는 색, 향, 모양 등을 직접 정하며 자신만의 비누를 만들었다.
먼저 보석 비누 만들기를 진행하였다. 학생들은 직접 원하는 색의 파우더, 색소, 향을 골라 비누를 조합하였다. 직접 비누를 섞고 굳히며 자신만의 비누를 만들어갔다. 보석 비누가 굳어지는 동안 클린솝 비누를 만들었다. 보석 비누와 마찬가지로 자신이 원하는 색, 향을 골라 섞었으며, 생크림 재질의 비누를 만들기 위해 직접 휘핑기로 섞어가며 거품을 만들었다. 비누가 부드러워지면 비누를 짤주머니에 넣어 자신이 원하는 모양으로 비누를 만들어갔다.
그 후 보석 비누가 굳자 또한 자신이 원하는 모양대로 비누를 잘라가며 보석 형태를 만들었다. 초반에는 비누 만들기를 낯설어 하였지만, 점점 비누 만들기에 익숙해져 능숙해졌다. 처음부터 끝까지 자신이 원하는 비누를 주도적으로 만들어가며 모두 훌륭한 비누를 만드는 데 성공하였다. 비누 만들기를 접할 기회가 흔치 않은데, 학생들이 자신이 사용할 비누를 직접 만들어 보는 유익한 시간이었다.
The members of Hanyang University ERICA Residential College Center Global House participated in a one-day soap-making class of Leadership House at 1 pm on May 11, 2022(Wed). A special lecture was given by a soap-making instructor, and the students experienced making a total of two types of soap: jewelry soap and clean soaps. Students made their own soap by choosing the color, scent, and shape they wanted.
First, they learned how to make jewelry soap. Students selected the color powder, pigment, and scent they want to use for their soap. Students made their own soap by mixing the ingredients and cooling the soap. While the jewelry soap hardened, they made clean soap. Like the jewelry soap, they chose the colors and scents and mixed them with a stick. Later on, they mixed the soap paste with a whipped machine to make whipped cream soap. When the soap paste became soft, they put the soap in a piping bag and made it into the shape they wanted.
After that, when the jewelry soap was hardened enough to carve, he also cut the soap into shape and made it into jewel form. Students felt unfamiliar with making soap in the beginning, but they got used to it quickly and became proficient. From start to finish, everyone succeeded in making great soap by themselves. It is a rare chance to experience making soap, but students spent useful time making their own soap.
