한양대학교 ERICA Residential College 센터 글로벌 하우스에서는 안산시에 위치한 ‘안산시행복예절관’에서 한국문화체험 활동을 진행하였다. 사회적 거리두기 방침에 따른 인원 제한으로 인하여 4월 6일(수)과 4월 8일(금)로 총 두 차례 나눠서 방문하였다.
예절관에 도착해서 하는 첫 체험으로는 한복체험을 하였다. 한복 중에서도 다른 곳에서 쉽게 찾아보기 어려운 전통한복을 직접 입어보며 한복에서 찾아볼 수 있는 한국의 전통 색상인 오방색(황색, 청색, 백색, 적색, 흑색)에 담긴 의미를 알아보았다. 한복을 착용한 후에는 한국의 배례법 중 기본 인사법인 공수배를 비롯하여 큰절 등을 따라 해보며 한국의 전통 예절을 익히는 시간을 가졌다. 외국인 학생들은 평소 외부에서 체험해볼 수 있는 한복이 아닌 전통한복을 체험해보았다는 것에 신기해하며 큰 만족감을 보였다. 한 외국인 유학생은 결혼한 여성과 결혼하지 않은 여성의 한복 색상이 다르다는 것에 놀랐다며 색상에 따라 혼인 유무를 구분할 수 있다는 것이 인상적이라는 말을 전했다.
뒤이어 진행된 다도체험에서는 한국의 전통 차에 대해 배우고 다도 시에 사용되는 식기인 ‘다구’의 명칭과 배치 및 사용법을 익혔다. 전통 방식으로 천천히 직접 차를 우려 마시며 몸과 마음을 다스리는 법을 배웠다. 다도가 단순히 차를 마시는 것이 아니라 차를 우리는 것에서부터 오감으로 느끼며 몸과 마음을 수양하는 것임을 배울 수 있는 시간이었다.
The Global House members of Hanyang University ERICA Residential College Center have visited Ansan Etiquette Education Center to experience Korean culture. Due to the restriction of the number of people according to the social distancing policy, the members had to divide into two groups and visited twice on April 6th(Wed) and April 8th(Fri).
The first activity was to try on traditional Korean clothes called ‘Hanbok’. Students wore traditional Hanbok, which is difficult to find elsewhere, and learned the meaning of the color scheme of the five Korean traditional colors called ‘Obangsaek(yellow, blue, white, red, and black), which can be found in Hanbok. After wearing Hanbok, students had time to learn and follow ‘Gongsubae’ which is a Korean traditional greeting way to bow and ‘Keun-jeol’ which is the most respectful bow. Foreign students were delighted that they got the chance to experience traditional Hanbok, which can be hard to experience outside, and showed great satisfaction. One of the students said “I was surprised that the colors of Hanboks are different between married and unmarried women," adding, "It is interesting that you can tell whether you are married or not depending on the color.”
In the following Korean traditional tea ceremony activity called ‘Dado’, students could learned about traditional Korean green tea and the name, layout, and use of ‘Dagu’, a tea utensils used in tea ceremonies. They learned how to manage their body and mind by slowly brewing tea and enjoying in a traditional way. They have learned that the tea ceremony is not just about drinking tea, but about concentrating on the body and mind by feeling with the five senses while brewing tea.
