한양대학교 Residential College 센터에서 9월 27(화) 오후 6시부터 교내 체육관에서 제1회 RC 올림피아드가 진행되었다. 리더십 하우스 학생들과 글로벌 하우스 학생들이 모두 참여할 수 있는 프로그램이며 리더십 하우스 학생 약 30명, 글로벌 하우스 학생 약 40명이 참여하였다.
RC 올림피아드는 크게 2가지 라운드로 구성되어있다. 첫 번째 라운드는 리더십 vs 글로벌로 종이비행기 멀리 날리기, 종이비행기 정확히 날리기, 제기차기 서바이벌 게임을 진행하였다. 각각 리더십, 글로벌 하우스 별로 4-5명씩 조를 이루어 조 별로 종이비행기와 제기를 직접 제작하였다. 연습 시간을 가진 후 게임 진행 결과 리더십 하우스의 승리로 마무리되었다.
두 번째 라운드는 리더십 하우스, 글로벌 하우스 학생들 8-9명씩 8팀을 랜덤으로 구성하여 진행하였다. 게임은 총 4가지로 "그림 이어 그리기", "탁구공 옮기기", "단체 줄넘기", "미션 계주"를 진행하였다. 그림 이어 그리기 게임이란 주어진 제시어를 보고 팀원별로 5초간 그린 후 다음 팀원에게 넘겨 최종 그림을 보고 마지막 팀원이 제시어를 맞추는 게임이다. 리더십, 글로벌 하우스 학생 각각 알 수 있을 만한 주제를 선정하여 모두 흥미 있게 참여하였고 제시어를 맞추는 과정에서 팀워크를 발휘할 수 있었다.
다음 게임은 "탁구공 옮기기"로 팀별로 종이 깔때기를 이용하여 탁구공을 떨어뜨리지 않고 반환점을 돌아오는 게임이다. 팀원 모두가 참여함으로써 각자 열정적으로 참여할 수 있었다. 그 후 "단체 줄넘기"를 진행하였다. 제한 시간 1분 동안 1명씩 줄을 넘어 줄을 많이 넘는 팀이 승리하는 8자 줄넘기 게임이었다. 팀별로 전략을 짜며 팀워크를 돋보였다.
마지막으로 RC 올림피아드의 하이라이트인 "미션 계주"를 진행하였다. 코끼리 코 돈 후 출발하기, 농구공 튀기며 뛰기, 뒤로 뛰기, 훌라후프 돌린 후 출발하기, 왕복 달리기를 진행하였다. 각자 자신 있는 미션을 맡으면서 팀의 승리를 이끌었다.
모든 게임이 끝난 후 점수를 종합적으로 산정해 1등 팀을 가렸다. 우승팀 시상이 끝난 후 랜덤 추첨을 진행하여 상품을 전달하였다. 이번 행사를 통해 리더십 하우스와 글로벌 하우스 학생들이 교류할 수 있는 시간이었으며 국적을 넘나들어 친구가 될 수 있는 기회였다. RC 올림피아드는 Residential College 센터 구성원들이 하나가 될 수 있는 즐거운 시간이었다.
At the Hanyang University ERICA Residential College Center Global House, the first RC Olympiad was held at the gymnasium from 6 PM on September 27th, 2022. About 30 Leadership House students and about 40 Global House students have participated. This activity allowed both Leadership house students and Global house students to get along together.
The RC Olympiad consists of two main rounds. In the first round, ‘Leadership vs. Global’, three games were played in round 1: Flying a Paper Airplane Faraway, Flying a Paper Airplane Close to the Line, and Jegi-chagi(Korean Hacky sack). In groups of 4-5 students of each House made paper airplanes and Jegi by themselves. After a practice time, each House picked its representative and played the final game and the first round ended with a victory for the Leadership House.
The second round was a random team game. 8 teams were randomly made of 8-9 Leadership House and Global House students. Four games were played in round 2: Relay Drawing Game, Ping Pong Ball Pass, Relay Team Jump Rope, and Relay Challenge Race.
A ‘Relay Drawing Game’ is a game where each team member takes turns, draws a given keyword for 5 seconds each, hands it over to the last team member and guesses what the keyword is. The keyword was picked carefully so that both Leadership House and Global House students can recognize it. They all had fun guessing the keyword and they are able to show teamwork throughout the game.
The next game was ‘Ping Pong Ball Pass’. Each team makes a paper bridge to move the ping pong ball as fast as they can to the final point without dropping it. All the team members participated and showed passion. A ‘Relay Team Jump Rope’ was played afterwards. It is the game that the team that jumps the rope the most in 1 minute wins. Every team made strategies and showed outstanding teamwork.
Finally, the highlight of the RC Olympiad, a ‘Relay Challenge Race’ was held. There were five challenges: running after 10 times elephant spin, running while dribbling a basketball, running backwards, running while spinning a hula hoop, and shuttle running. Each team member take part in the mission and led their team to victory.
After all games, the score was calculated comprehensively to determine the first-place team. After the winner's award, a lucky draw was held. The RC Olympiad was a time for the Leadership House and the Global students to interact and become friends across nationalities. It made the members of the Residential College Center become one.
