한양대학교 ERICA Residential College 센터 글로벌 하우스에서는 전체 오리엔테이션 이후 학생들이 선택한 공통 선택 활동(교외 도서관 봉사활동, 글로벌 카페 중 택1)에 따른 오리엔테이션을 진행하였다.
2023년 3월 15일 오후 12시부터 창의인재원 교육관 205호에서 글로벌 카페를 신청한 학생들을 대상으로 오리엔테이션이 있었다. 이날은 글로벌 하우스 외국인 유학생들과 리더십 하우스의 한국인 학생들이 처음 만나는 자리였다. 사전에 조사한 설문조사를 바탕으로 팀 배정이 되었고 본인 팀과 함께 착석하였다. 어색한 분위기를 풀기 위한 아이스 브레이킹 게임 이후에 오리엔테이션이 시작되었으며 뒤이어 고채린 연구원의 한 학기 동안의 언어교환 활동에 대한 설명이 있었다. 이후 같은 자리에 앉은 학생들끼리 본인의 나라와 문화를 소개하며 서로를 알아가는 시간을 가지며 첫 언어교환 활동을 진행하였다.
이번 학기는 30개국에서 온 87명의 글로벌 하우스 학생들과 79명의 리더십 하우스 학생들이 본인이 배우고 싶고 가르칠 수 있는 언어와 활동할 수 있는 요일에 따라 팀이 맺어졌다. 활동은 한 학기에 총 5회에 걸쳐 진행되며 창의인재원 교육관 강의실에서 만나 언어와 문화를 교류할 수 있다.
2023년 3월 25일 10시 30분에 안산시 단원구 원곡동에 위치한 ‘안산다문화작은도서관’에서 교외 도서관 봉사활동을 신청한 학생들을 위한 오리엔테이션이 진행되었다. 교외 도서관 봉사활동은 글로벌 하우스 참여자 중 외국인 학부생만 신청할 수 있으며 봉사활동 30시간 완료 시 사회봉사 1학점 취득이 가능하다. 김기영 안산다문화도서관장님의 진행으로 오리엔테이션이 시작되었고 간단한 도서관 소개 후 마인드맵을 통한 자기소개로 서로 알아가는 시간을 가졌다. 뒤이어 다문화 가정 아이들을 대상으로 진행되는 독서 프로그램 보조로 참여하고 끝으로 앞으로 하게 될 도서관 업무에 대한 설명을 들으며 오리엔테이션이 끝이 났다.
After the orientation event for all members of Hanyang University ERICA Residential College Center Global House, a second orientation was conducted based on the students' chosen volunteer work (Library Volunteer/Language Exchange Volunteer) at the beginning.
On March 15, 2023, starting at 12 PM in room 205 of the Residential College Center building, an orientation was held for students who had applied for the Global Cafe. It marked the first meeting between international students from the Global House and Korean students from the Leadership House. Teams were assigned based on a pre-survey conducted earlier, and students sat with their team members to begin the orientation with an ice-breaking game, creating a comfortable atmosphere. Next, researcher Chaerin Ko explained the Global Cafe activities. Following that, students in each team introduced their own countries and cultures, fostering mutual understanding and engaging in their first language exchange activity.
For this semester, teams were formed based on the languages students wanted to learn and teach, as well as their available days. A total of 87 Global House students from 30 countries and 79 Leadership House Korean students were involved. The activities will take place five times throughout the semester, providing opportunities for language and cultural exchange in the lecture rooms of the Residential College Center.
Another orientation was held for students who chose to volunteer at the library on September 24th, starting at 12 PM at the Ansan Multiculture Small Library located in Wongok-dong, Ansan. Volunteering at the local library was available exclusively to foreign undergraduate students participating in the Global House program. By completing 30 hours of volunteer work, they could earn 1 community service credit. The orientation, led by Director Kim Ki-young of the Ansan Multiculture Small Library, began with a brief introduction to the library, followed by a self-introduction session using a mind map to facilitate getting to know each other. Subsequently, the students participated as assistants in a library program for multicultural children, and the orientation concluded with an explanation of their future tasks at the library.
