한양대학교 ERICA Residential College 센터(이하 RC센터)는 외부 전문가와의 협업을 통해 RC 참여 학생들이 현장감 있는 학습을 이어 갈 수 있도록 다채롭고 실용적인 교육 프로그램을 꾸준히 마련하고 있습니다.
오리엔테이션 당일, 창의인재원 지하 강의실에서는 인권 특강이 진행되었습니다. 이번 특강은 RC에 모여 사는 다양한 문화권 학생들이 서로를 이해하고 존중하는 분위기를 만드는 데 초점을 두었으며, 문화적 차이에서 비롯되는 오해·갈등을 줄이는 방법과 일상생활 속에서 인권 보호를 실천할 수 있는 구체적 방안을 다뤘습니다. 강연에 참여한 학생들은 “다문화 환경에서 서로의 차이를 배려하는 태도의 필요성을 절감했고, 이를 행동으로 옮기겠다는 다짐을 얻었다”고 소감을 전했습니다.
이어 2025년 3월 7일(금)에는 창의인재원 교육관 205호에서 소방안전 교육이 다시 한 번 실시되었습니다. 교육은 학생들의 안전 의식을 높이고 응급 상황 대응 역량을 강화하는 데 목적을 두었으며, 심폐소생술(CPR) 실습을 포함해 심정지 등 위급 상황에 대한 실전 대응 능력을 집중적으로 길렀습니다. 참가자들은 직접 마네킹을 활용해 정확한 압박 위치와 속도를 숙지하면서, 위급 시 자신뿐 아니라 주변 사람을 돕는 데 필요한 실제적인 기술을 익혔습니다. 한 학생은 “강의만 듣는 데 그치지 않고 손으로 체득할 수 있어 매우 유익했다”고 말했습니다.
이번 학기 RC센터가 마련한 인권 특강과 소방안전 교육은 학생들이 공동체 생활에 필수적인 태도와 기술을 익히는 데 큰 도움이 되었을 뿐 아니라, 향후 지역사회에서도 긍정적인 변화를 이끌어 낼 수 있는 발판이 되었다는 평가를 받았습니다.
Hanyang University’s ERICA Residential College Center (RC Center) continues to offer a wide range of hands-on training sessions for RC participants by inviting external specialists.
Immediately after the orientation, a human-rights seminar was held in the basement lecture hall of the Creative Talent Residence. Focusing on creating an atmosphere of mutual understanding and respect among students from diverse cultural backgrounds, the session addressed ways to reduce misunderstandings and conflicts arising from cultural differences and suggested practical strategies for safeguarding human rights in everyday life. One attendee remarked that the seminar strengthened her resolve to practice respect and consideration in the RC’s multicultural environment.
On Friday, 7 March 2025, fire-safety training was conducted once again in Room 205 of the Creative Talent Center Education Building. Aimed at heightening safety awareness and improving emergency-response skills, the program featured hands-on practice in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), allowing students to learn how to react swiftly and accurately during incidents such as cardiac arrest. By working with training manikins, participants mastered the correct compression position and rhythm and gained practical skills to assist both themselves and those around them in a crisis. One student commented that the session was especially valuable because it offered direct, experiential learning rather than a purely theoretical lecture.
This semester’s human-rights seminar and fire-safety workshop were praised for equipping students with essential attitudes and competencies for RC life, while also preparing them to have a positive impact on the broader community.
