2024학년도 2학기 동안 한양대학교 ERICA Residential College 센터는 학생들의 글로벌 커뮤니케이션 능력과 문화적 이해를 증진하기 위해 다양한 프로그램을 운영하였습니다.창의융합교육팀의 외국인 교강사가 진행하는 ‘언어 카페’와 여러 국적의 학생들이 함께 팀을 이루어 언어 교환과 문화 교류를 할 수 있는 ‘글로벌 카페’가 포함되었습니다.
‘글로벌 카페’는 총 6회에 걸쳐 진행되었으며, 프로그램은 유행하는 밸런스 게임을 영어로 진행하거나 보드게임을 활용하여 학생들이 자연스럽게 서로의 의견을 나누고 다양한 생각을 공유할 수 있는 기회를 제공하였습니다. 이러한 활동은 단순한 언어 학습을 넘어 학생 간의 깊이 있는 대화를 이끌어내는 장이 되었습니다.
‘언어 카페’는 외국인 교강사가 다양한 주제를 기반으로 총 5회에 걸쳐 수업을 진행하며, 학생들이 실질적인 영어 소통 능력을 향상시키는 데 초점을 맞추었습니다. 학생들은 강의뿐만 아니라 실습과 참여형 활동을 통해 자신감을 키울 수 있었습니다.
이와 같은 프로그램은 한국 학생들에게는 글로벌 마인드를 함양하고 세계 여러 문화를 접할 수 있는 귀중한 경험을 제공하였으며, 외국인 유학생들에게는 한국어 실력을 향상시키고 한국 문화를 더욱 깊이 이해할 수 있는 유익한 시간이 되었습니다. RC센터는 이러한 프로그램을 통해 학생들이 글로벌 커뮤니케이션 역량을 키우고, 문화적 다양성을 이해하며 성장할 수 있도록 지속적으로 지원하고 있습니다.
During the second semester of the 2024 academic year, Hanyang University's ERICA Residential College Center ran a variety of programs to enhance students' global communication skills and cultural understanding, including the “Language Cafe,” led by foreign tutors from the Creative Convergence Education Team, and the “Global Cafe,” where students of different nationalities could team up for language and cultural exchange.
The Global Cafe was held six times in total, and the program provided students with the opportunity to interact with each other and share their thoughts in a natural way by playing popular balance games in English or using board games. These activities went beyond mere language learning and led to in-depth conversations between students.
The “Language Cafe” program focused on helping students improve their practical English communication skills, with a total of five classes taught by foreign teachers based on various topics. Students were able to build their confidence not only through lectures but also through hands-on and participatory activities.
These programs provided valuable experiences for Korean students to cultivate a global mindset and be exposed to different cultures around the world, and for international students to improve their Korean language skills and gain a deeper understanding of Korean culture. Through these programs, the RC Center continues to help students develop global communication skills and grow in understanding of cultural diversity.
