한양대학교 ERICA Residential College 센터는 2024학년도 1학기 동안 다양한 하우스 테마 활동을 진행했습니다. ‘식목행사(환경)’, ’RC 플로깅(환경, 봉사)‘, 그리고 ’RC Movie Night(인문)‘이 그 예입니다.
먼저, 4월 17일(수) 오후 1시, 식목일을 기념하여 식목 행사가 진행되었습니다. 이번 행사는 창의인재원 2층 힐링 가든에서 창의인재원 기숙사 자치회와 함께 기숙사 거주 학생들과 RC 활동 인원들이 참여했습니다. 학생들은 두 명씩 짝을 이루어 사전에 신청한 식물(쌈 채소류, 허브류, 야생화류)을 화분에 옮겨 심고 푯말을 만들었습니다. 또한, 환경 보호를 위한 각자의 다짐을 써보며 환경에 대해 생각해보는 시간을 가졌습니다.
6월 4일에는 RC 플로깅 행사가 진행되었습니다. RC 활동 참여자들이 도서관 뒤 잔디광장에 모여 쓰레기 봉투와 집게를 들고 4팀으로 나누어 교내에 무분별하게 버려진 쓰레기를 치웠습니다. 팀별로 기숙사, 체육관, 정문 아고라, 공대 건물 등 동선을 정해 길거리에 버려진 쓰레기를 주웠습니다. 한 학생은 교내에 쓰레기가 많이 떨어져 있다는 사실을 알게 되어 마음이 아팠으며, 앞으로는 길거리에 쓰레기를 버리지 않고 발견하면 쓰레기통에 직접 넣겠다고 말했습니다.
마지막으로, 6월 5일(수), 창의관 지하 1층 RC NORITER에서 RC Movie Night가 진행되었습니다. 상영한 영화는 <웡카>로, 영화 <찰리와 초콜릿 공장> 주인공의 과거 이야기를 다룬 내용이었습니다. 한국인 학생들과 외국인 유학생들이 함께 테이블에 모여 영화를 시청했습니다. 사전 신청한 학생들에 한해 팝콘과 음료를 제공하여 영화 관람의 재미를 더했습니다. 한 학생은 보고 싶었던 영화를 이렇게 함께 볼 수 있어서 좋았고, 다른 친구들과 함께해서 더 즐거웠다고 말했습니다.
Hanyang University ERICA Residential College Center conducted various house-themed activities during the first semester of 2024. These included the ‘Tree Planting Event (Environment)’, ‘RC Plogging (Environment, Volunteering)’, and ‘RC Movie Night (Humanities)’.
First, on Wednesday, April 17, at 1 PM, a tree planting event was held to commemorate Arbor Day. The event took place in the Healing Garden on the second floor of the Creative Talent Building, with participation from dormitory residents and RC activity members. Students paired up and transplanted plants (leafy vegetables, herbs, wildflowers) they had pre-registered for into pots and created name tags. Additionally, they wrote down their individual commitments to environmental protection, reflecting on the importance of the environment.
On June 4, an RC plogging event was conducted. Participants in the RC activities gathered at the lawn behind the library, equipped with trash bags and tongs, and divided into four teams to clean up litter scattered around the campus. Each team covered different areas such as the dormitory, gymnasium, main gate agora, and engineering buildings. One student remarked that discovering the amount of litter on campus was disheartening and pledged to avoid littering and to dispose of trash properly in the future.
Finally, on Wednesday, June 5, an RC Movie Night was held in the RC NORITER on the basement floor of the Creative Building. The movie shown was <Wonka>, which tells the backstory of the main character from <Charlie and the Chocolate Factory>. Korean and international students gathered at tables to watch the movie together. Pre-registered students were provided with popcorn and drinks to enhance the viewing experience. One student expressed their delight at being able to watch a movie they had wanted to see, and enjoyed the experience even more because they could share it with friends.
